What To Expect When You Call Smart Solutions For Your Rat Problem

When dealing with a rat or mice problem here in the greater Atlanta area, we assess the site, ask questions to ensure we have a full understanding of your exact situation, and perform a three-point inspection:

  • an inspection of the attic, crawl space, or basement
  • a damage assessment of the rodent infested area
  • An entry point evaluation to identify what type of rodent is getting in, where they’re getting in, how many there a
  • An action plan that includes conducting a multiple visit intensive trapping program and a full home exclusion to seal the entry points to prevent rats and rodents from returning

Once we have a complete picture of what’s going on and how big the problem is, we’ll provide you with an estimate for the trapping and removal of the rodent(s), as well as any needed exclusion repairs and attic, crawlspace or basement cleanup. Some common entry points:

  • The edges of the roofline — If the roofline is an entry point in your home or business, we can seal construction gaps in the roofline with the steel drip edge to prevent re-entry. We use custom profiles that fit the exact angle of your roof. We can make any size or color of metal soffit or fascia covers in our custom fabrication shop.
  • Open vents — We install custom powder coated vent covers on the roof, soffits, dryer vents and foundation so you don’t have to choose between pests and fungus/mold issues. We also do custom on-site metal fabrication special metal bending tools and paint to match the existing home.
  • Cracks and holes in the foundation/siding/masonry — Our team has over 35 years of construction experience and can make small foundation repairs, seal/repair siding, and repair masonry to keep them out in the future.
  • Utility Entries and Crawlspace Doors– Rodents make a regular habit of entering the home through AC lines and crawlspace door gaps. Our construction experts use backer and high grade 20 year adhesive to seal the utility lines. Crawlspace doors are often times rat and rodent entries, we install new rodent proof crawlspace access doors with latches.
